Activity During WWII

Entered the service in 1943 where he was a pilot in the Army Air Corps, assigned to the troop carrier command where he was first pilot on both the C-47 and the C-46. He held an instrument rating on both airplanes. Upon receiving his wings, he was commissioned a flight officer and later 2nd Lieutenant. He was trained in dropping airborne troopers, supplies, and towing gliders.
