Activity During WWII

Entered service 4 August 1944 at Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indiana. Trained at Camp Hood, Texas and Fort Ord, California. Assigned to the 25th Infantry Division (Tropic Lighting) 161st Infantry Regiment, Company L, Second Platoon as a Rifleman. Sailed for the Asiatic-Pacific theater arriving in the Philippine Islands 19 February 1945. Seriously wounded the night of 17 April 1945 during attack toward Balete Pass near Kapintalan, Luzon. Died of the wounds the same night. Awards include Purple Heart (posthumous) Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal and American Campaign Medal. Rank Private.
