Entered service on 4 August 1944 at Indianapolis, Indiana. Served with the 96th Infantry Division (Deadeyes), 383rd Infantry Regiment, Company K. Trained at Fort Hood, Texas. Killed in action 4 April 1945 on Okinawa in the Pacific Theater of Operations. Awards include American Theater Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Medal and Presidential Unit Citation for extraordinary Heroism and Gallantry in action against the enemy in the conquest of Okinawa.
