Activity During WWII

Drafted in 1943, he was assigned to the Army Specialized Training Program in Blackstone Virginia until a shortage of infantrymen caused this unit to be disbanded. He was then assigned to the 94th Infantry Division and sent to Europe aboard the liner, Queen Elizabeth. He landed at Utah beach and fought at St. Nazaire. The 94th was then sent to the Third Army, where he fought in the Ardennes. He was captured in Germany in February 1945 and liberated in April.
