He served as a Medic in the Pacific Theater of Operations from May 1943 to December 1945. He was involved in the New Guinea Campaign and was stationed in the Philippine Islands. He became ill with Cholera in July of 1945. He received the Asiatic-Pacific Service Medal, Philippine Liberation Ribbon with 1 Star, WWII Victory Medal, and Good Conduct Medal.
