Activity During WWII

Enlisted at age 17 and served over three years including a tour in the pacific theater of Operations where he served as a radioman and gunner on an SBD Dauntless Dive Bomber. He flew 45 combat missions and was twice awarded the distinguished flying cross in addition to receiving the air medal with six bronze stars.
