Activity During WWII

At the beginning of the war he wanted to do his part in service to his country. He went to the military recruiting center at Fort Sam Houston and was sworn into the United States Army. He was then sent to basic training and after training he was orientated toward the European Theater of Operations. He received training in infantry, small arms, rifle and was then sent to the North Africa area for combat. He served in French-Morocco, Tunisia, Sicily and the Italian campaign before being transferred to prepare for the Normandy Invasion. Prior to that his enlistment ran out and he was transferred back to the United States where he received his Honorable Discharge. He was released from active duty and returned to his hometown of Laredo.
