Activity During WWII

Rank: Private First Class. On July 27, 1943, he was inducted into the United States Army at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. His boot camp training took place at Camp Van Dorn, Mississippi. Later he completed combat infantry training at Camp Maxey in Paris, Texas. Served as a Rifleman with the 99th Infantry ‘Checkerboard’ Division in the European Theater of Operations, assigned to Easy Company, Second Battalion and 394th Infantry Regiment. His division participated in the Battle of the Bulge against the German armed forces (Battle Dates: December 16, 1944-January 25, 1945) Ardennes-Alsace Campaign. Reported missing in action Saturday, December 16, 1944 while fighting in the Ardennes forest on Elsenborn Ridge. His name is permanently inscribed in the tablets of the missing, memorialized at the Ardennes American Cemetery, located at Neupre ‘Neuville-en-Condroz’ Belgium. In his Memory and Honor, a cenotaph memorial has been placed at the Rosedale Cemetery in Ada, Oklahoma. He received the following decorations posthumously: Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. The Bronze Star awarded for Bravery, Act of Merit and Meritorious Service in Combat. This American Patriot was awarded the Purple Heart, for his ultimate sacrifice in defense of his country.
