Was with the 101st Airborne and established field hospital on D-day, later served in Operation Market Garden and Bastogne. He was captured by the Germans in the field hospital outside of Bastogne and imprisoned at Stalag IV-B Muhlberg where he worked in the camp infirmary until liberated by the allies.
