Activity During WWII

He enlisted in the Marine Corps soon after Japan’s attack on Pearl Harbor and trained as a Marine paratrooper. In early 1944, the Marines disbanded the paramarines, and he transferred to the Fleet Marine Force while at Camp Pendleton, California and was sent into action in the Pacific in August. On March 10, 1945, he was killed in action on Iwo Jima at the age of 23.
