Activity During WWII

Having accepted the Commission of 1st Lieutenant in the Medial Corps of the Organized Reserve, U. S. Army, in 1937, he became active in military affairs, and was given a Certificate of Capacity as Captain early in 1940 and was called to extended active duty in November of the same year. Among assignments was that of Obstetrician of the Station Hospital, Presidio of Monterey and Chief of the Surgical Service of the 252nd General Hospital both in U.S. and Europe. He took active part in the Battle of Germany and the Battle of the Rhineland.
