Military occupation: Radar repair 953, Philippine Islands. He was a platoon sergeant with 43 men under him in the Southwest Pacific and Western Pacific Theaters of Operation. He operated 270 and 271 radar transmittery and receiving equipment. He assigned duties to his men and supervised their work in field and fixed installations. He set up, tested, repaired and maintained these sets and trained men in their operation. Part of his work was to drive 5 ton auto cars on which these units were mounted. He made out duty rosters, radar reports and operational records.
