Utah Beach, D-Day; B Battery, 343rd Field Artillery, 90th Infantry Division from May, 1942 until war ended, then 6 months in Army of Occupation. Battle of the Bulge with General Patton's 3rd Army in relief of 101st Airborne in Bastogne. Good Conduct Medal, WWII Victory Medal, Army of Occupation Medal, European Theater Medal with bronze arrowhead for Utah Beach, bronze battle star for Battle of the Bulge. His own gun set 2 records for the battery: 1 round/1 tank and 1 round/13 enemy soldiers. Also truck driver and M1 infantryman. Medical discharge September 1947.
