Activity During WWII

He served as a Staff Sergeant in WWII with the 100th Infantry Division (Century Division), 398th Infantry Regiment, Second Battalion, Company G, in the European Theater of Operations. He was a Prisoner of War and was detained by Germany from April 6, 1945 to July 20, 1945. He was held at Stalag 5A Malschbach Ludwigsburg Wurtmberg. He was awarded the Silver Star Medal for gallantry near Jagstfeld, Germany.
