Activity During WWII

He served as a Sergeant in WWII with the 100th Infantry Division (Century Division), 397th Infantry Regiment, First Battalion, Company D, in the European Theater of Operations. Killed in Action on April 9, 1945, he was awarded the Purple Heart. He was also awarded the Silver Star for heroism under enemy fire near Heilbronn, Germany.
