He loaded, aimed and fired a rifle to destroy enemy personnel and to assist in capturing and holding enemy positions. Placed fire on designated targets and divided fire as needed. Used Automatic Rifle rocket launcher, rifle grenade launcher, trench knife and hand grenades. He was Awarded the Good Conduct Medal, The Purple Heart Medal with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters, Silver Star Medals, European-African-Middle Eastern Service Medal with 3 Bronze Stars.
