He enlisted on August 20, 1941 and was honorably discharged on June 30, 1946. He served as a Private First Class with Company H, 57th Infantry Regiment-Philippine Scouts. After the Liberation of the Philippines, he completed his military career as a Corporal with Company B, 4th Military Police Battalion, Army of the United States; He is a Defender of Bataan; endured and survived the Death March and was taken prisoner on April 9, 1942. He was awarded the Bronze Star with One Oak Leaf Cluster; the Good Conduct Medal; Presidential Unit Emblem with Two Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters; American Defense Service Medal with One Bronze Star; the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with One Bronze Star; WWII Victory Medal; Combat Infantryman Badge; Combat Medical Badge; Philippine Defense Ribbon with One Bronze Star; Philippine Liberation Ribbon with One Bronze Star; Philippines Independence Ribbon; Philippine Republic Presidential Unit Citation Badge and the Prisoner of War Medal. He was recognized for his Honorable Service and Selfless Sacrifice and received the Congressional Gold Medal presented to the Filipino Veterans of World War Two.
