Activity During WWII

He was inducted into the Army at Camp Perry, Ohio. He did his basic training at Atlantic City, and then Camp Pinedale in Fresno, California for telephone line training and Raymond, Washington for Bell Telephone training. He shipped out from Los Angeles, California to Bombay, India and onto Calcutta, India where his unit built 2300 miles of telephone lines to Kweilin, China over the Burma Road. He served with the 20th Air Corps Battalion (the Flying Tigers). After serving two years, he was sent back to Seattle, Washington and then received his discharge at Camp Atterbury, Indiana on December 23, 1945. AWARDS: Two Presidential Citations (Bronze Stars) for Exemplary Service.
