Proudly served from October 20, 1944 until he was honorably discharged on July 14, 1946 as a Fireman First Class. During his time in the Navy, he served on many vessels and stations, including the Naval Receiving Station Albany, New York; Naval Training Station Sampson, New York; Bayonne, New Jersey; Receiving Station Miami, Florida; MTRRONS #41; Brooklyn, New York; USS Europa (AP-177); Receiving Station Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; SS Ditmars Chen and the Personnel Separation Center Lido Beach, Long Island, New York. He received the American Theatre Medal and the WWII Victory Medal for his dedicated service.
