Activity During WWII

SERVED AS A 2ND LIEUTENANT. He joined the U.S. Army infantry in October 22, 1940, with his brother. He went to the Army's Jeep mechanic school. He applied for the U.S. Army Air Forces in 1942 where he served during WWII as a P-38 Lightning fighter pilot. He went from working on slow 4-wheel drive jeeps to piloting the fastest fighter in the U.S. arsenal at the time. He served in the Philippine Islands from 1943 to 1945 with the 67th Fighter Squadron, 13th Air Force.
