Activity During WWII

Served as Gun Captain on a troop transport in the Pacific all through WWII, carrying men from island to island. The ship was the SS Luis Arguello, and they traveled to Panama, Marshall Islands, Palau, Philippine Islands, New Guinea, Australia, Morotai, Borneo and Biak. His greatest fear was a Kamikaze attack, but actually his greatest danger was when the war ended. His gun crew started firing in celebration, and one out-of-control gunner strafed the bridge.
