Enlisted 164th North Dakota National Guard 1939. Saw action in Pacific Theatre 1942-1944. Awarded Silver Star for gallantry in action on Bougainville in 1944. Among other decorations authorized to wear Northern Solomon Battle Star, Bronze Battle Star for Guadalcanal and the Combat Infantryman Badge. Discharged at Fort McClellan 1945.
