Activity During WWII

He served on LST-327, LST-771, and Navy 920 (LST-920) in the Mediterranean, European, and Asiatic-Pacific Theaters of Operation in WWII. He enlisted in the Coast Guard as an Apprentice Seaman, Reserve 12 May 1942 at Des Moines, Iowa at the age of 22. He served in operations in Africa, Italy, the Normandy landings, the Philippine Islands, and the China Coast. He was discharged honorably from Regular Reserve enlistment 24 November 1945 as a Gunner's Mate First Class Reserve at Personnel Separation Center Number Nine (St. Louis, Missouri).
