Activity During WWII

Enlisted December 10, 1942 and Discharged April 9, 1946. Served as Water Tender Second Class on the USS Hamul AD-20 Destroyer Tender 5th Division in the Pacific Theatre of Operations. The Hamul sailed for the Pacific January 1945 reaching Saipan in February via the Panama Canal, Pearl Harbor, and Eniwetok. The ship remained there preparing amphibious craft for the massive Iwo Jima invasion until March 27, when it sailed to Ulithi. Medals: WWII Victory Medal, American Theatre Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Theatre Medal (1 Star), Good Conduct Medal and Point System.
