Activity During WWII

Served in Infantry and as interpreter due to his being first-generation American of German descent. At one point he and others in his platoon were cut off and trapped behind enemy lines and had to fight and find their way back to to their unit. After the end of the war, he served in Germany going house to house to find Nazi personnel. He returned to service after his initial discharge.
