Served in the 330th Bomb Squadron, 93rd Bomb Group as a Navigator. During an inspection tour, he was killed in a crash of B-24 Liberator of the 8th Air Force out of England. The crash occurred on Mt. Fagradalsfjall in Iceland. Received Air Medal with Oak Leaf Clusters, Distinguished Flying Cross, and the Purple Heart.
