Activity During WWII

1 March 1943-13 November 1944. Attended basic training and assigned to 71st Infantry Regiment, Ft. Lewis, Washington. Participated in the Louisiana Maneuvers and then assigned to Camp Phillips, Kansas to prep for deployment. Traveled over land rail to Boston, Massachusetts and shipped to Cherbourg, France with the 71st Regiment. Participated in combat operations east of Lunneville, France. Killed in Action in an artillery barrage on 13 November 1944 with the 71st Infantry Regiment in the Vosages Mountains. Buried at Epinal American Cemetery, Dinoze, France. Awards: Purple Heart.
