2 April 1945-15 March 1946. Attended Nurse’s Basic Training Course at Camp Lee, Virginia and then assigned to 138th Surgical Care Unit McGuire General Hospital, Richmond, Virginia attending war wounded. Reassigned to Ft. Jackson, South Carolina pending oversea deployment. Traveled by train to New York City, boarded the Charles Stafford Hospital ship and deployed to Leyte, Philippine Islands assigned to the 4th General Hospital continuing care of war wounded. Had subsequent assignments to the 116th and 117th Station Hospitals and 248th General Hospital. After the war she returned for assignment to Brooke General Hospital San Antonio, Texas for further medical training. AWARDS: American Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, WWII Victory Medal.
