Activity During WWII

Enlisted May 1, 1942. Army specialty instrument operator (surveying). Honorably discharged May 10, 1944. Awarded the Purple Heart, American Campaign Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, WWII Victory Medal and Army Meritorious Unit Citation. Private First Class. Served with Pride, seeing combat in Africa while attached to the 'Big Red One'. Wounded by Shrapnel in right arm and leg during an engagement at El Guettar, March, 1943. Returned home, after recovery continued to serve selling war bonds.
