Activity During WWII

Brigadier General. During 1943-1944 he served on the U.S. War Department General Staff. In January 1945, he was assigned to Headquarter, Army Air Force, Pacific Ocean Area. He was Chief of Staff to Lieutenant General Millard F. Harmon. They were both on a flight leaving Guam for meetings in Washington, D.C., when the plane disappeared after leaving Kwajalein. No survivors were ever found and one year later on February 26, 1946 he was declared dead.
