Activity During WWII

A naval aviator in the United States Marine Corps that was transferred to Marine Aircraft Group 12, as group operations officer. His group was sent to New Hebrides and then Guadalcanal. The next stop was Bougainville and he supervised the building of the airstrips and operations of Allied aircraft used to strike Rabaul, the heart of the enemy strength in the area. Returned to the states and assigned as executive officer of Marine Aircraft Support Group 48, which was tasked with training and qualifying Marine squadrons for service on board escort carriers. During the occupation of Japan he served as executive of Marine Air Group 31 at Yokosuka.
