Graduated from the George Washington University School of Medicine. Served in the U.S. Army Medical Corps where he was assigned to Ward Officer, Surgical service, 1280 General Hospital, Camp Cook, California; Assistant Battalion Surgeon, 2nd Battalion, Surgical Medical Detachment, 361st Infantry, European Theater of Operations. Received the Legion of Merit, American Campaign Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, WWII Victory Medal, Bronze Star, and Army of Occupation (Germany and Japan).
