He proudly served his country during WWII with the 3442nd Ordnance Medium Automotive Maintenance Company. During the war he was stationed in Germany, Belgium, and France. His unit took part in five major battles during the war, including the Battle of the Bulge and the Invasion of Normandy. He was the recipient of five Bronze Stars.
