Activity During WWII

In 1943 at the age of 17 he enlisted in the U.S. Navy achieving the rank of Gunner’s Mate Second Class. He served in the Pacific Theater aboard the USS Otus and was involved in the Battle of Leyte Gulf in the Philippine Islands.
