She was an Army Flight Nurse in the Pacific. She flew wounded soldiers home to the United States from Guam, the Philippine Islands, Iwo Jima, Japan, back to Oahu then to San Francisco. She decided to join the service when President Roosevelt put out a call for nurses to enlist. She enlisted on 5-1-1945.
