Activity During WWII

Enlisted on December 29, 1942. Served in the 3rd Battalion, 133rd Infantry Regiment, 34th Infantry Division. On February 2, 1944 while serving in Italy, he was helping to evacuate American wounded soldiers when an enemy shell landed within a few feet of him. Fragments hit parts of his body. He died within a few minutes. He posthumously received the Purple Heart and European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal.
