Activity During WWII

On March 13, 1944, he was called for induction and received his basic training at Camp Barkley, Texas. He trained at the Medical Technician School at Beaumont General Hospital, El Paso, Texas, for eight weeks and then was assigned to the Hospital Training Detachment at Camp Edwards, Massachusetts. He was sent overseas, from Camp Beale, California, for service in the Pacific Theatre as Replacement in the Medical Department, 4th Field Artillery Battalion. He took part in the Philippine Campaign. On April 18, 1946, he was honorably discharged from the service at Fort Dix, New Jersey. He holds the Philippine Liberation Ribbon, WWII Victory Medal, American Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, with Bronze Star for the Southern Philippine Islands Campaign.
