Served in combat in the Philippine Islands at the battle of Leyte Gulf. His Military Occupation Specialty (MOS) was Squad Leader. He was attached to Company K, 323rd Infantry. Military Qualifications include: Marksman Rifle, Combat Infantryman Badge. Awards include: Southern Philippine Islands Liberation, Western Pacific, American Theater, Good Conduct, Asiatic-Pacific Theater, WWII Victory Medal. He was inducted into the Army 08 June 1942 and was released from Active Duty 12 December 1945 at Ft. Bliss, Texas for the convenience of the Government-Force Reduction.
