He enlisted 1941 with rank of Captain. He was promoted to Major in the Sixth Ferry Command based at Hamilton Field, California. As administrative officer he coordinated ferrying personnel, material and aircraft to combat zones. He was reassigned to Morrison Field in West Palm Beach, Florida. Promoted to Lieutenant Colonel. Discharged 1945 and returned to Continental Airlines, where he was named Senior Vice President.
