Activity During WWII

He was a Private First Class member of the Company B of the 95th Infantry Division, 379th Infantry Regiment. He entered the service in June of 1942. He received his infantry training at Camp Swift, Texas; Fort Sam Houston, Texas; a camp near Los Angeles, California; Camp Polk, Louisiana; and Indiantown Gap, Pennsylvania. He went oversees in July of 1944, landing in England. Later he entered France with his infantry unit. He was a member of the 95th division in Patton’s 3rd army. The 95th Infantry was organized at July 15, 1942 at Camp Swift, Texas. They were sent to Europe in August of 1944. They were fighting in the Moselle and Metz in the Lorraine region in northeast France. The 95th Infantry earned the nickname 'The Iron Men of Metz' in capturing the city amidst heavy fighting with the Germans. He was killed in action in France on November 14, 1944. He posthumously received the Purple Heart.
