Activity During WWII

He was employed at the Central Islip State Hospital prior to his call to service on on January 21st, 1943. After training at the Naval Training Station at Sampson, New York, he was in charge of engine parts for Air Transport Squadron 10, Maintenance Unit for the Naval Air Transport Service Command, Pacific Wing, which operated over routes for the Philippine Islands to San Francisco and Guam to Australia. He was awarded the American Theatre Ribbon and the Good Conduct Medal. On January 22, 1946, he was discharged at Lido Beach, New York.
