He enlisted and served during WWII. He was a submariner stationed on the SS Thresher submarine (diesel). He was a torpedoman. The sub he was on sank more German boats than any other sub at that time. The SS Thresher got hit and only three survived. He survived and rescued his fellow mariner. He Served in the South Pacific and surrounding territories. Continued his service after WWII. At the end of his commitment He was Honorably Discharged.
