Activity During WWII

In March 1940 he was called for Army service and received his basic training at Fort Totten, Flushing, New York. He served in the Anti-Aircraft Division, Battery D, 62nd Anti-Aircraft Artillery. For thirty-five months he was a telephone operator, serving in Africa, Sicily, France and Germany. He was awarded seven Battle Stars. He was honorably discharged on July 16, 1945 at Fort Dix, New Jersey.
