Activity During WWII

On January 10, 1944, he was called for Army service and received his basic training at Camp Crowder, Missouri. Then for seven months he was trained in a radio operator's specialist school. After being sent to Fort Jackson South Carolina, he did radio and field work. He was sent overseas to Okinawa and for two months did radio work on Meyako, in the Ryukyus Islands. There he helped in repatriating Japanese troops to Japan. On Okinawa he was a switch board operator, pole climber and truck driver. On May 19, 1946, he was honorably discharged from the service at Fort Dix, New Jersey.
