Activity During WWII

He enlisted in the Army Air Corps on November 26, 1942 and became a radio technician. He studied in Sioux Fall South Dakota and was there in early 1943. He spent eleven months in the Italian Campaign and then returned to the United States, reaching Greensboro, North Carolina in October 1945. He was with the 9th Air Force Radio Mobile Squadron in Italy. At Florence, he attended the Army College and received a diploma for science and mathematics. He was award one Battle Star for the Italian Campaign, a Marksman Medal, WWII Victory Medal, American Campaign Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern, and the Good Conduct Medals. he was discharged on November 24, 1945.
