Activity During WWII

He was inducted into the Infantry at Camp Upton, New York on July 9, 1944. He was transferred to the Infantry replacement training center at Camp Wolters, Texas, to begin his basic training with the 64th Infantry. He served in France, Germany and Holland as an Infantry Rifleman. His awards include the Purple Heart, Combat Infantryman Badge, Good Conduct Medal, WWII Victory Medal, four Battle Stars for the Central Europe, Northern France, Ardennes and Rhineland Campaigns. While fighting in Germany he was wounded. He received his discharge on February 5, 1946, from Fort Dix, New Jersey.
