Activity During WWII

On March 9, 1942, he was inducted at Camp Upton, New York After reprocessing, he was assigned to the Army Air Corps and began his basic training at Mitchell Field, New York. Later, he was sent to the Army Air Force Technical Training School at Amarillo, Texas, where he studied for promotion to aviation mechanic. He was stationed with the 324th Air Base Unit. He assisted in keeping America's B-17 Flying Fortresses and the B-29 Super Fortresses in repair. After three years of service he was discharged under the Army point system at Mitchell Field, New York on November 27, 1945. He earned the Good Conduct Medal and the WWII Victory Medal.
