Rank: Private First Class. Inducted into the United States Army March 20, 1944 at Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Following his infantry training, he was deployed to the European Theater of Operations. Served as a Rifleman and assigned to Fox Company, Third Battalion, 347th Infantry Regiment a subordinate unit of the 87th Infantry ‘Golden Acorn’ Division attached to the U.S. Third Army. His division participated in the Battle of the Bulge against the German armed forces (Battle Dates: December 16, 1944-January 25, 1945) Ardennes-Alsace Campaign. On December 17, 1944 he was killed in action, with burial in the Limey battlefield cemetery Toul, France. Succeeding hostilities in Europe, the family of this Soldier requested that he be buried with Military Honors at Lorraine American Cemetery Location: St. Avold ‘Moselle’ France. This American Patriot was awarded the Purple Heart posthumously, for his ultimate sacrifice in defense of his country.
