He served as a Technician Fifth Grade in WWII with the 100th Infantry Division, 397th Infantry Regiment, Medical Detachment, in the European Theater of Operations. Killed in Action on November 11, 1944, he was awarded the Purple Heart. He was killed by a German sniper.
