Activity During WWII

On December 7th, 1942, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and received basic training at Camp Perry, Virginia. With the 20th Armored Division since its activation, he served as mechanic, dealing with complete overhaul maintenance and inspection of tanks, trucks and jeeps. With Company C, Ordinance Maintenance Battalion, he attended Armored Force Tank and related schools at Camp Campbell, Kentucky, and later at Fort Knox, Kentucky. He was discharged on February 27, 1945 at Fort Dix, New Jersey.
